Emergency Eyecare Information
If you are experiencing an emergency, seek medical attention as soon as possible. For advice in an emergency, please call us. Whenever possible, we will schedule an appointment with an optometrist on the same day.
In the event we are unable to offer you an appointment, we will be able to direct you to your local eye emergency unit or urgent care clinic.
What to Do in An Eye Emergency
When an eye emergency arises, we understand the worry you may have, and we are here to assist you.
Eye emergencies can include the following:
Eye redness
Eye pain or discomfort
Sudden changes in vision including flashes or floaters
Sudden loss of vision - with or without pain
Sudden double vision
Eye injuries, including chemical injuries
Foreign object in the eye that will not come out
Emergency Eye Appointments
We provide private emergency appointments for our patients when eye emergencies arise. We are able to deal with most eye emergencies in practice and can urgently refer when further care is needed. Some of our clinicians are also Independent Prescribers so can even prescribe medication if necessary.
Our private, emergency eye appointment fees are £50 - £95.
