BlephEx - Lid & Lash Cleaning for Blepharitis

Revolutionary deep cleaning treatment that removes dirt, crust and debris from the eyelids and lashes.

What is BlephEx?

BlephEx™ is a new advanced option for the treatment of Blepharitis and is performed in practice, by one of our specialist optometrists. The treatment involves the use of a patented micro-sponge and specially formulated solution which is applied directly to the lids and lashes, to manually remove the build-up of debris on the lid margins and lash lines. In addition, it can also be used to massage the lipid-producing glands to allow for a better-quality tear film, which is vital when treating and managing dry eye symptoms.

It is a useful aid in managing Blepharitis as the treatment acts almost like a ‘deep clean’ of the lids, which can be repeated as necessary, for example, every 4-6 months. BlephEx allows us to clean and exfoliate the eyelids and eyelashes, which will immediately improve the symptoms.

What Should I expect During a BlephEx Treatment?

BlephEx is a painless procedure performed by our specialist optometrists. The procedure lasts for approximately 30 minutes.

Depending on the condition being treated, BlephEx only needs to be performed every 3-6 months.
